IAHSP Community Worldwide Staging Service Week
Improving the lives of others through staging September 9th - 16th, 2007
Helly Duncan, Principal of Design Matters Inc., joined other Denver area IAHSP member home stagers last week in the 2007 IAHSP Community Worldwide Staging Service Week. "Working with other stagers on this project was rewarding to me in many ways. Most importantly this project allowed me to enhance the lives of the people who live in the Ronald McDonald House."
Recap of The 2007 Denver Project: The Denver IAHSP Chapter is grateful for all the support that made our 2007 Ronald McDonald House Service Project a resounding success. In two days, September 13 and 14, 2007, with member donations of beautiful decorator items and a lot of muscle we transformed five rooms at the RMH from nice away-from-home spaces to beautiful, warm, cozy and inviting places to rest, relax, reflect and renew in the midst of monumental personal challenges.
In addition to the $300 Foundation donation that was used to purchase pictures and accessories, we received two gorgeous paintings from PPI, valued at $500 that we placed in the solariums. IAHSP members donated another $1350 worth of pillows, throws, artwork, mirrors, floral arrangements, lamps, greenery, books and accessories to complete the transformation. Thank you to all of you who made this project so successful and so much fun! And a special thanks to Kendra Trebil, House Manager at the Ronald McDonald house for her gracious support and to Ronald McDonald and all the parents and kids who dropped by to watch, thank us, and say how much they loved what we were doing!
Background on the Worldwide Staging Service Week: Following Barb Schwarz’ (Founder of the Association of Home Staging Professionals Foundation and creator of Home Staging) dreams to give back to the communities in which we all serve, IAHSSP members and Accredited Staging Professionals come together for the betterment of our communities. "We can improve the lives of others through our magic of Home Staging." Ms. Schwarz adds, "When we serve in this way, the benefits to the lives of others are far reaching."
The IAHSP Foundation each year in September supports the World Wide Staging Service Week Charity Projects across North America. Local IAHSP Chapter members and Accredited Staging Professionals select regional or local charity organizations to find solutions to challenges that the charity may be facing. We are working with organizations to help where we can, whether it is lack of materials to enhance a room for a Ronald McDonald House that offer "A Home Away From Home" for families with critically ill children, a women’s shelter in need of a room facelift, a Habitat for Humanity house that needs more hands to complete a room, or just a family in need of some assistance with Staging their home for Sale.
